Our most powerful proprietary pepper and tear gas blend: OC, CS all in one shot, with quick-acting incapacitating effects, higher dispersion, and higher concentration of chemical irritants than any other round found on the market today, our Byrna Max projectiles are designed for maximum stopping power.
Physical Effects:
- Burning in throat
- Wheezing
- Gasping
- Dry cough
- Shortness of breath
- Gagging
- Inability to breathe
- Nausea
- Burning of the eyes
- Burning of the lungs
- Chest tightness
- Excessive salivation
Physical symptoms of chemical irritants often result in disorientation and agitation, which can lead to a state of fear, anxiety and panic in would-be attackers. Upon impact the projectiles burst, creating a cloud of chemical irritant that rapidly disperses into the air to quickly incapacitate an attacker. Within seconds, the saturation area extends in all directions around the point of impact.

FAQS
If you store projectiles in a cool, dry place, the active ingredients in Byrna chemical irritant projectiles will maintain potency for 5 years. However, the dispersion of the contents may be affected over time by exposure to external conditions. Based on data to date optimal dispersion shelf life is at least 18 months from the delivery date.
Exposing any chemical projectiles to excess impact, vibration, extreme temperature conditions, or even overhandling the projectiles could potentially cause them to crack or break. Please also note we do not recommend a 5 +1 or 7 + 1 setup where six or eight total rounds are in the launcher. The launcher is designed to hold 5/7 rounds. Although the extra 6th/8th round will sometimes fit in the launcher, this will cause the launcher to jam and can cause the projectiles to rupture when stored, carried, or fired.
Our chemical projectiles are preferred by many Law Enforcement Agencies and Private Security Companies due to their high quality and durability. We now manufacture our projectiles in house to have even more control over quality. We have made them stronger to survive the shot but also easier to break when they strike a target while having a better dispersion pattern of the chemical irritants due to the improved shell design.
We are aware of the unpleasant nature of the irritant rounds, and we are sorry if you were accidentally exposed. You can also dispose of the broken projectiles in your normal trash if wrapped in plastic.
