PRODUCT INFO

88 GRAM CO2 CARTRIDGES ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE BYRNA MISSION-4 RIFLE.

Our box of two 88g CO2 cartridges are a perfect fit for the Byrna Mission-4. Each cartridge (new) will be good for approximately 60 rounds (or 3x Mission-4 19-round magazines) at full speed. Punctured cartridges within the Mission-4 CO2 buttstock will leak over time.

It is recommended to swap out punctured CO2 cartridges and leave an un-punctured cartridge inside the Mission-4 CO2 buttstock to avoid any compressed gas loss.

*Actual 88g CO2 cartridge brand and packaging may vary depending on availability.

FAQS

Byrna® CO2 cylinders have a virtually indefinite shelf life as long as they remain unpunctured.

An 8g CO2 Cylinder should consistently fire 18 – 20 projectiles. A 12g CO2 Cylinder should consistently fire 18 – 20 projectiles in an LE and 20 – 25 projectiles in an SD with the Boost Adaptor installed.

We recommend loading a new CO2 cylinder after every sustained use because once punctured, the CO2 cylinders will leak out around 24-48 hours, sometimes longer. The trigger is designed to pull in both Fire and Safe position. Pulling the trigger is how the CO2 is punctured. The CO2 can be punctured by flipping to Fire and pulling the trigger which will fire a projectile; or by pulling the trigger on safe, which will not fire a projectile.

When puncturing and firing on the first trigger pull, the first round can come out a little slower due to the valve not being fully charged. This is why we give the option to puncture in the Safe position so the first round will fire with full velocity.
It is not punctured until you pull the trigger, so Byrna® CO2 cylinders have a virtually indefinite shelf life.

A single Byrna 8-gram CO2 cylinder should consistently fire 18 – 20 projectiles. A single Byrna 12-gram CO2 cylinder should consistently fire 18 – 20 projectiles in an LE and 20 – 25 projectiles in an SD with the Byrna Boost Adaptor installed.

One of the most important things that sets Byrna’s handheld launchers apart from the competition is Byrna’s patented “pull-pierce” technology. This enables the Byrna launcher to both pierce the CO2 and fire the projectile with the first pull of the trigger.

Why is this important? It is important because it allows your Byrna to sit for days, weeks, months or even years and still be ready to fire on the first pull of the trigger. Most other launchers pierce the CO2 cannister when it is loaded. Once pierced, the CO2 will start to leak out, fully discharging over the next 24 to 48 hours, leaving the launcher inoperable. The alternative is not to load the CO2 until it is needed, however, in that case, the launcher will not be ready to use when it is needed. It is like carrying a gun without bullets in the magazine.

With the Byrna, the installed CO2 cylinder is not punctured until the trigger is pulled. This means you can leave your launcher fully loaded knowing that it will be ready to fire when needed on the very first pull of the trigger.

Our box of ten CO2 cylinders includes 1 CO2 cartridge with oil for simple maintenance. Meaning that for every 10 CO2 cylinders used you will have oiled and maintained your Byrna launcher. The cartridge is not always labeled and is placed in the box facing the opposite direction as the other 9 cylinders. The oiler cartridge can be used just the same as the other CO2 cartridges.
